Comments Well First of all let me make it clear that I actually posted the same thing at another page. But I see that here on this board there are more viewers,so I thought it can be useful for those who are interested...
had also a bad experience with the a guest house which was ironically recommended by a branch of tour2korea office in Singapore to me.. The place was called Wow Guest House.

As I was especially recommended this hostel from the tourism office in Singapore,I was very sure it would be a great place to stay.I had also seen the website with pictures looking brand new and great place to enjoy my stay for a reasonable price,but;

On the day I arrived, first of all I couldn't find the place as it was extremely shabby and small from outside.(It looked like a decayed building).Thinking that inside must be nice I was horrified to see the interior full of stinking air and beer bottles with lots of garbage, dust and dirty walls...When I entered the room that I had made the reservation I was even horrified more as the walls were full of moist, puss, dirt etc with spiders nets all over and very very very dirty floor almost dirtier than street.I cannot even describe how awful the toilet was.The owner quoted me 25000 for a private room with bath but it wasn't a private room at all as the toilet (so called bath) was kind of shared and partially with the other room on the roof and floor with a fixed shower head on top of the dirty, old dripping toilet bowl...I said never mind to myself I tried to bear with it but there were new things that surprised me;Pictures seen on its internet site was not new, probably taken 25 years ago as the owner also admitted it to me.Internet usage was not free either as it was mentioned. She wanted to charge me 1000 won for every half an hour which is ridiculously expensive compare to a PC Bang(Anyway if they will charge why do they deceive people this way.)And even we wanted to use it the daughter of the guest house owner was angry and threw tandrums as we confiscated her pc.There were huge cockroaches in my room as big as eggs.Other people in the same guest house told me they also have huge house rats on the upper floor. The ants and spiders are all over the place and smoke was extremely dense all the time as there is no direct window to outside but to the tv room.

In brief I would like to warn everybody who plan to stay in Guest houses in Korea to see the place with your eyes first before you book.If not you would be in terrible situation like I was and eventually I had to change to a more pricey but clean place.I also urge the tour2korea staff to reconsider the recommendations as the place mentioned above is not even suitable for an animal stable..
By the way after that guest house I found an excellent hotel near Shinchon subway which was very clean and comfortable and almost the same price. I hope this info would help those who plan to stay in Guesthouses.
Thanks.

:Hello Everybody !
:
:I just left the SEPBS guesthouse in Seoul (30-1, Iksun-Dong, Jongno-Go). For those of you who don't want to be able (or don't want) to sleep before 1.00am, it's a paradise... The tourists who stay there are very talkative, even during the night...
:
:The first day, we received too small sheets for our bed because... "not enough", any way, it can happen, we understood...
:
:During our stay our room was never clean even if we had to ask on Sunday morning, when we came back in the evening, no one came to clean it or at least to empty the garbage bin. When we came to see the man in charge, his reply was : sorry but today, the guy when to church, then he couldn't clean your room... (it really happened !!).
:At least, we were ready to enjoy a shower with the "unlimited hot water" (as described in their liflet), unfortunately... no more hot water...
:This day, we couldn't sleep before 1.00am because of the continuous noise in the stairs, and at the entrance.
:
:The day after, we try to enjoy a real shower, but one more time we had to take shower under cold water (healthy but bbbbrrrrr.... so ccooolllddd).
:
:The day after, my fiance and myself decided to leave this place. The manager told us that it was not possible to refund all our money for the remaining nights (we pay before for 8 days) and propose to refund 25% of the remaining nights, I had to insist to let him allow us a... 50% refund. I don't speak about the night already passed but the ones remining... He said that he will lose money because he refused many guests before... few minutes later a couple of foreigner ask for a room (they came for the second time because it was full before !!), I don't think this man will lose so much money...
:
:Finally, after losing 2 hours, we left this "comfy" place.
:
:Friend traveller, even if you're foreigner, don't let you attract by this nice liflet. I even had to ask the guy to stop speak loudly with me (I was very quite, he wasn't) and I was surprise he reacted like this when we told him, we couldn't sleep, couldn't stay in a dirty room, couldn't take shower... The only response was : "It's a guest house, it's normal because it's not a hotel".
:
:Anyway, if you plan to stay in Korea, it's a beautiful country, with very nice people and amazing history. I really enjoy my stay here and plan to come back.
:
:Bye bye
