Famous Mexican restaurant in Korea Casa Loca
Famous Mexican restaurant in Korea Casa Loca ( www.casaloca.co.kr ) opened its second unit in Apkujung in early July. The restaurant has been very successful in Yeouido, Seoul under the name of La Salsa Loca but they changed their names for easier and shorter pronunciation. The restaurant operator Elli & the Company said everything else remains the same as before the name change. The company plans to open two more Mexican units by the end of this year.
The new Casa Loca is located in the heart of trendy Gangnam area, and it offers the same high quality contemporary Mexican cuisine with more authentic Mexican flavor than any other small Mexican restaurants in town. The new Casa Loca in Apkujung, compared to the 1st unit in Yeouido has much more Mexican touches with traditional Mexican clay walls and decorations.
The restaurant has received a great deal of spot lights from media since their opening, thanks to their largest scale Mexican restaurant operation and the concept of healthy diet: their food is guaranteed not to have any preservatives, animal fat, artificial colors, or can products that contain any chemical preservatives. And they do not even use microwave ovens. All these can be proven by looking in their kitchens that are wide-open to see.
The restaurant imports very-difficult-to-find food items directly such as limes, Mexican condiments, corn tortillas, and etc. They also have their own farm to grow jalapeno chilies in Korea. Fresh made hot flour tortillas are just mouth-watering and you should not forget to ask for extra for free of charge. Margarita comes with fresh mango and lime flavor and they aren¡¯t like the taste from mango or lime concentrate.
If you want to go for the more casual one, visit Yeouido location (subway line #5, get off at Yeouido station, walk straight 200m and make a left at the traffic light. Walk another 50m and you¡¯ll see it with Spanish roof on your right. phone: 780-8133). Refer to www.casaloca.co.kr for more detailed map and menu.
If you wish to visit more upscale and luxurious one, then Apkujung is the perfect choice. The restaurant is located cross the street from Cine City Movie Theater, the tall black monumental building in Tosandae-ro (or Dosan Blvd). To get to this upscale diner, take subway line #7 to Gangnam-gu Office station. Take exit #3, and make a left to downhill toward Hak-dong Junction for 600m. At the Hak-dong Junction, make a left and pass Bennigan¡¯s. You¡¯ll soon see Casa Loca on the 2nd floor just before you hit Ho Lee Chow Chinese restaurant. Be sure to log onto www.casaloca.co.kr and print the detail map as this will help you locate the restaurant. Phone: 541-5671.
