Hoehyeon Underground Shops for Stamps and
Rare Money Collectors

Located at the underpass between Myeong-dong and Namdaemun, Hoehyeon Underground Shops sell and buy old Korean currency.

Because Korean currency is produced in very small amount and because the duration of usage of such currency is short, they are quite popular in international markets.   These shops also handle old stamps, so this would be the best place for you to purchase some rare souvenirs from Korea.

Beside the thousand kinds of stamps from all over the world, you can find Korean lottery tickets, telephone cards, postcards, Christmas seals, and commemorative coins.   Moreover, "Stamp Street" around the Central Post Office next to Hoehyeon Underground shops open on every weekend.   The opening hours for this event are 1pm to 7pm on Saturday and noon to 6pm on Sunday.   Everyone is welcome to participate in this event and to trade rare stamps, postcards and commemorative coins.

Tel Daebodang 02-778-5132, Ujeongsa 02-756-3366, Chung-ang Gwang-usa 02-753-9210
Opening hours 09:30~19:00 (closed on Sundays)
How to get there Exit to Shinsegae Dept. Store from Hoehyeon subway station or Myeong-dong subway station (line number 4)
