Cheongdam-dong, the Center of Luxurious Culture

The streets of Cheongdam-dong, which start from the Galleria department store and run into Hakdong intersection and Cheongdam intersection, are lined with luxurious shops as Prada, Gucci, Jil Sander, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Missoni, and Escada.   This street, about 300m in length, is also called the Yuppie street.   You can also spot Louis Vuitton, Donna Karan, Kenzo, AIGNER, Ferragamo and Cartier shops here.

The competition to open a shop on this street among luxury brands is so high that Hermes and DKNY had to look for alternative places.   The shops on this street provide more variety and better service to the customers compared to shops in department stores, so young people as well as foreign tourists love to shop here.   It is especially popular among young Koreans with high level of education and large incomes.

There are also many bars and restaurants made to fit their tastes.   The Cheongdam-dong culture could be summarized as follows: espresso, wine, cigar, and fusion food.   Cheongdam-dong will provide to the visitors one aspect of Korean upper class.
