Gangnam Station -   An Entertainment Zone

The wide variety of entertainment on offer means that the streets of Gangnam Station are constantly filled with young people.

It's a huge area filled with fine cafes and restaurants, buzzing nightclubs and karaoke bars, record markets, book stores and theaters, and is especially popular with local university students and young workers, partly due to its easy access to the subway and bus routes.

Because of its convenient links with public transport, huge academies, book stores, libraries and record stores are based here. The street of Gangnam Station has a number of clothes stores, making it an alternative to the other fashion meccas of Myungdong and Dongdaemun.

Adjacent to the subway is Gangnam underground market, where a whole array of clothes, shoes and accessories are displayed in the shop windows. If all that window shopping has tired you out, the snack bars provide tasty but low-priced food. The water fountain in the center of the market is a popular meeting place and is always crowded.

Gangnam station really is a paradise for the younger generation, and is well worth a visit if you want to see a different part of the culture of Korea.
