Entertainment in the Tallest Building of Korea, the 63 Building
|
The 63 Building is the tallest structure in Korea and offers various attractions to tourists. A visit to the aquarium, IMAX Theater, or observation deck will be an extraordinary experience.
The Aquarium 63 Sea world displays over 20 thousand fish from more than 400 different species. The fish are not only from local rivers and seas, but they are also from tropical regions, jungles and Polar Regions, and the aquarium presents these marine creatures living in conditions identical to their origins. Enter this magical undersea world to meet beautiful tropical fish and coral reef as well as king penguins, sea otters and more. Opening hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and price of admission is 8, 000won.
The 63 building IMAX Theater is the first in the country and 12th in the world. The screen that covers the whole front area is 25m x 28m in size and provides an image which is ten times larger than the typical 35m/m size film and 3 times larger than the 70m/m one. The IMAX Theater is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and mega-sized movie systems, so that the audience can completely be absorbed in the movie without being distracted. In fact, since 'IMAX' is short for Eye Maximum, the concept is to provide the fullest amount of visual information.
Currently, IMAX is showing "Amazon," a movie nominated for the short film Academy Awards in 1997 and which shows the beauty and mystery of the unknown regions of Amazon where over 240 thousand different plants and animals inhabit.
IMAX Theater opens at 10:00 a.m. and screens every 50 minutes. Movies are shown 12 times on weekdays and 13 on weekends. Admission fee is 7, 000won.
Observation Deck 63 Golden Tower
The Observation deck is positioned on the top 60th floor and is 264 meters above sea level and 249 meters above the ground. The deck provides a visual radius of 50 km and you can get a fantastic view of the city or even the ocean on a clear day. The limitless mirror situated at the entrance of the observation deck welcomes visitors with neon messages creating a mysterious atmosphere.
Kaleidoscopes, interesting experiences with mystical sounds are also great attractions that cannot be found in any other observation decks in the world. Thus, visitors can enjoy themselves regardless of the weather conditions. The observation deck is open from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and price of admission is 5, 500won.
