A Guide to Cafes and Clubs in the Geonguk University Area

The Geonguk University area is famous for its lovely cafes.   The following is an introduction to the best cafes and clubs.

Sebourga
Located in a fairly quiet area, Sebourga is unlike the majority of the other restaurants nearby, in that it has an open area surrounded by trees where customers can choose to eat and drink. With a white interior and comfortable sofas, Sebourga offers a pleasant atmosphere. The speciality on the menu is it's barbecued food, and when a meal is ordered before 2pm, dessert is free!

Kahn
If you walk in the direction of the Children's Grand Park from the station for about 10 minutes, you will stumble upon Kahn. Located on the second floor, Kahn offers cheap food with a cheerful atmosphere, and if you happen to go there on your birthday, a member of staff will take your photograph give you a free cocktail! The soup and roasted fish are particularly recommended.

Jazz
Jazz offers non-profit performances from the staff, who are all jazz musicians. Located on the road towards Seoul Hospital from the station, the staff at Jazz perform on stage and serve when they are off stage.   It's clearly run by those who love their music, and is well worth a visit if you are interested in jazz music.

L'Essai
L'Essai is filled with green plants, making this clean and bright cafe a cool and comfortable place to relax. Either sit on the luxurious sofas and watch TV, or just gaze out of the window and watch the world go by. L'Essai can be found inbetween the Children's Grand Park subway station and the Gunkun University subway station.

Dock
Dock is a jazz bar which offers a variety of unusual beers which are not usually available in local stores. One attraction is that a record is made of how many times you have frequented the bar, and after a number of visits, you are presented with a small gift.

Bulldog
Bulldog is an American-style rock bar, with a juke box which boasts over 1,000 songs. For those who are after a non-alcoholic drink, Bulldog has a variety of non-alcoholic cocktails made with fresh fruit and ice cream. The alcoholic cocktails are worth a try too!
