The cover of this box shows the image of the sun god Ra who was widely worshipped in Ancient Egypt.
As the key divinity in the Egyptian pantheon, Ra is the dispenser of all forms of life on earth. He is at the origin of the various deities who are sometimes just another aspect of the sun god.
He can appear in a wide variety of shapes: a scarab in the morning, an old man or a man with a ram뭩 head in the evening, or a falcon hovering in the sky at the zenith. Here, he is portrayed as a falcon, or rather, as a man with the head of a falcon.
