Line no. 6, Gold Line

The cheapest way to tour Seoul is by taking the subway. On the subway you don¡¯t waste time in traffic. Each line has lots of natural places to visit like parks and mountains. Hope you have a wonderful tour!
Worldcup stadium station (Seongsan station)
Seoul Mapo-gu Worldcup stadium, the largest soccer stadium in Asia with a capacity to receive 63,930 visitors, is currently under construction and is expected to open next December. The design for the stadium is based on the shape of a traditional Korean kite.
A park will be created around the stadium, and will house the worlds highest fountain with a height of 172 meters, which will be operated as from October.

Itaewon station : Itaewon street
There are about 40 foreign embassies in the vicinity of Itaewon, and great many hotels are located in the area such as the Hyatt Hotel, the Hamilton Hotel, the Holiday Hotel, the Capital Hotel etc. Why not visit the war Memorial Hall, the Yongsan family park or the many other leisure facilities available there.   Taking either exit 3 or 4, you will find a shopping area, hotels, restaurants, leisure facilities, trading merchants, the tourist bureau etc. Street stalls are set up daily to sell leather, clothes, antiques, brand watches and golf clubs among other things.   Itaewon is the place where all foreigners meet.

Hyochang stadium station : Hyochang Park
The original name of the Hyochang Park is Hyochangwon.   This is Koreas No. 330 listed historical site.   The tomb of Prince Munhyo (the eldest son of King Jeongjo, the 22nd King of Joseon dynasty) and his mother Queen Uibin Seong, Royal concubine Sukui Bak and Princess Yeongon were also buried here in the Hyochangwon. The Japanese Empire moved the tomb of Prince Munhyo to Seosamneung by force and changed it to a public park.

After the national liberation, key figures of temporary government such as Kim Gu, Lee Dong-ryeong, Lee Bong-chang, Yun Bong-gil and Baek Jeong-gi and three high-principled men were buried here. The head of the temporary government Kim Gu was buried in 1947, Lee Dong-ryeong and Cha I-Seok, Jo Seong-hwan in 1948 and the three high-principled men ( Lee Bong-chang, Yun Bong-gil, Baek Jeong) were buried in the Hyochang Park in year 1946.

There was a joint memorial service for the seven men on April 13, 1979 on the Anniversary of the 60th Year of Temporary Government. The graveyard was expanded and serviced in year 1988 and an ancestral shrine (Uiyeolsa) was built along with the main gate and management office. Visitors can pay their respect to the three high-principled men and the key figures of temporary government. It is one of the most important place for history education.

Samgakji station : War Memorial Museum
The War Memorial Hall is visible once you come out of exit 11 or 12 at Samgakji Station.   This building, which used to be the armys headquarters houses 5000 years of Korean history, within its 7 interior and exterior showrooms such as the memorial room, the War history room, The Korean War room, the Overseas dispatch room, The Korean Army development room, and the heavy equipment room. The statue of brothers, who fought for the opposite sides, reminds us of the sadness in the division of the Korean peninsula.

Thanks to its size and its car park capacity, the War Memorial is able to host many events such as the Honor Guard Demonstration of the ROK Armed Forces showing close-order drill with rifles and traditional sword display.   This event, which takes place every Friday (14:00-15:30 PM) in the plaza includes an Army Band Performance, Traditional Music Performance, Womens Army Corps, Traditional Sword Display and Honor Guard Demonstration.   It is very popular with visitors from home and abroad as one of the most fantastic sight-seeing places in Seoul.

Saejeol station
The name Saejeol in Korean means   new temple .   This station is also called Shinsa Station in Chinese. When you take exit 2, walk for about 20 minutes and you will find a street, which is much reputed throughout the whole of Seoul for its Gamjatang dishes. Gamjatang cooked with red pepper, perilla and meaty ribs, makes a great side dish or main dish, and   works particularly well with Soju. This street has known fame for the past 20 years through its delicious Gamjatang.   It certainly is different.

Taeneung station
At Taeneung station, take exit 7 and walk for 15 to 20 minutes. Then take either bus 45-2 or 803, and get off at Seoul Women's University. The Army Museum within the Military Academy is the only museum of its kind in Korea. Thirteen Korean listed pieces are displayed along with 3,500 important military objects and historical documents.

After taking a good look around the museum and seeing the cadets' parade, the next best thing is to have lunch at the Taeneung galbi restaurant. To make this a perfect weekend outing, you can even trek up the Taeneung green hill.
