Line no. 5, Purple Line

The cheapest way to tour Seoul is by taking the subway. On the subway you donĄ¯t waste time in traffic. Each line has lots of natural places to visit like parks and mountains. Hope you have a wonderful tour!
Gimpo Airport Station: Gimpo Airport
Connected with the Gimpo Airport station. Since the opening of Incheon International Airport on 29th March 2001, Gimpo airport has been used as a domestic airport. Tourists wishing to go to other regions within Korea can fly from Gimpo Airport.

Yeouido station : 63 Building
Get off at the Yeouido station then take exit 5. There is a free shuttle bus. 63 building is the highest building in Korea and awaits you with special scenes. The aquarium, the Eyemax theater and the observation platform will provide a pleasant tour. 63 buildingĄ¯s Aquarium displays 400 types of sea plants and animals. It's open from 10:00~20:00.   Entrance fee is 8000won. The 63 Eyemax theater is the first of its kind to open in Korea and the 12th to open worldwide. The screen is 25m wide and 18m high. It's 10 times bigger than a 35m/m screen and 3 times bigger than a 70m/m screen. 63 buildingĄ¯s observation platform located on the 60th floor, which is 264m above sea level, 249m above ground, shows you over 50km of landscape. On a clear day you can see not only the town center but also the sea.

Yeouinaru Station: Han-gang Riverside Park
Take exit 3 at Yeouinaru Station. Hangang is the river crossing Seoul. At the Yeouido citizen park you can enjoy swimming at half the price of ordinary pools (tel. 02-785-1093, Fee: adult 2500won) and enjoy a romantic tour of Seoul (fee: 6000~7000won, the ride is one hour long, reservations: 02-785-4411). The park is great to take a stroll.

Gwanghwamun Station: Kyobo Book Center
Connected to the Gwanghwamun Station. The Kyobo Book Center is the largest bookstore in Seoul. There are over 2 million books stocked there (about 340,000 in English and 75,000 in Japanese).   You can actually sit down among the store and read any book you like on site. The store is divided into many sections and computers allow you to find easily the location of the book you are after. You will find on the same floor a stationary shop, a record shop, coffee shops, etc.

Jongno 3-ga Station: Jongmyo Park
Exit 1 of Jongno 3-ga Station. The Jongno area is reputed for its many language institutes and cinemas, and for being a young people hot spot.   Jongmyo Park is where the King used to hold memorial ceremonies during the Joseon period. The park is listed as a World Cultural Inheritance.
Admission fee Adults 700won, Teenagers 300won   
Opening hours 09:00~18:00. Closed every Tuesday
How to get there Exit 4 of line 1 / Exit 1 of line 3 or 5 at Jongno 3-ga station,   5-minute walk.

Dongdaemun Stadium Station: Dongdaemun Shopping Mall
Exit 14 at Dongdaemun Stadium Station. Dongdaemun is the most visited shopping site in Seoul.   Multi-story shops such as Migliore, Doosan Tower, Freya Town, New Zone have appeared recently.
Many events are constantly organized to attract the youths.   Most shop owners there are young designers aged between 20-30 who have created their own brand.

Achasan Station:Mt. Achasan Sanseong
Achasanseong was a military strategic site during the internal wars when Korea was divided into 3 nations. Starting from 200m of the normal altitude towards the Han river, the ruins of the fortress are still visible.   This site is listed as historic monument No 234 and thus protected.   A much visited and appreciated park.

Olympic Park Station: Olympic Park
Take exit 3 at the Olympic Park Station.   The Olympic Park is a 5-minute walk away. The Olympic Park was constructed in commemoration of the Olympic Games, which were held in Seoul in 1988. The park is divided into 6 sports stadiums where you can practice cycling, weight lifting, fencing, Gymnastics, swimming, etc.   There is also the outdoor sculpture park within the grounds.   The remains of the Mongchontoseong fortress, which dates from 4th Century (Baekche dynasty) are preserved amongst the site as a museum.   
Opening hours Sunrise to sunset weekdays, also open at nights at weekends and till 22:00 on bank holidays.
