Sokcho Beach Resort
The Sokcho beach resort is a great place for the family to spend their vacation ?the 1.6km beach is clean, and the water is only 1m deep. Situated close to the mountain of Seolak, Sokcho is in the province of Gangwon.
Near the summit of Mount Solak is a temple called Naksan, which is well worth a visit for the more adventurous holidaymaker.
How to get there Get off the subway at Gangbyeon (line 2). Take a bus at the Dong Seoul express bus terminal to Sokcho ?this takes 5 hours.
Gyeongpodae Beach Resort
Gyeongpodae is considered to be the best eastern beach. It extends for 6 km, and is one of the top 3 beaches in Korea (the others are Dae cheon and Haeundae).
The pine forest surrounding the beach is very picturesque, and there is a cherry blossom festival held in Gyeongpo in spring. This resort has the best sand, warmest water temperature, and the sea is not too deep.
The beach can become very crowded in the summer season, but the sea is just as beautiful in the winter.
Jeongdong station (listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the closest station to the sea) is where the famous drama called 멣andy Clock?was filmed. The beautiful sunrise in this area is also famous.
How to get there Get off the subway (line 2) at Gangbyeon station. Take the bus to Gangreung at the Dong Seoul express bus terminal. (It takes 4 hours from the terminal). Visitors may take the bus which operates every 10 minutes in Gangreung city.
Jumunjin beach
Jumunjin beach is located in North of Gangneung.
The beach is 700m, 15 thousands §³ with white sand, so a lot of summer visitors come to the beach. The sand is soft and the depth is not deep therefore the people come with their family.
Hyangho is located near the beach so the visitors can enjoy fishing.
White sand and a fine wood characterize the beach. During the summer the visitors would be attracted the light of a ship to angle for cuttlefish and harbor of Uamjin, Ohrijin, and Jumunjin also can eat cheap fresh fishes.
The beach open from 10th July to 20th August and the camp ground where include 440 tent area. A variety of accommodations are prepared such as the hotel, the motel, guest house and so on.
