Occidental Style well kept Garden - Family Park in Yongsan |
The Yongsan Family park is located between Mt. Namsan and the Han-gang(Han-River). The park is signposted from the main road where the subway station is. There is a small parking lot inside of the park. |
|
On entering the park there is a lotus pond with ducks swimming. There are
benches under the trees for people to sit and meet friends etc.
The lotus pond is enclosed in a white fence, a backdrop of weeping willows
adds to the relaxing scenery. Take the bridge over the lotus pond, this
leads to a lawn with a path inside. On both sides of the path, there are wooden chairs.
Animals such as ducks, pigeons, and rabbits are jumping about on the grass.
Children run around after the animals. At the end of grass a gentle slope leads to an outdoor wedding hall and a pavilion.
The other side of the slope also has various facilities for outdoor sports. It is nearby a park where 100 Korean national flags stand. There is also an area where you can walk barefoot, as well as a nature reserve.
The park has been open to the public since 1992, when it was converted from
a golf course used by U.S. troupes. The park is now a peaceful resting place for the citizens of Seoul. There are no food stores.
