Nam Yi (1441-1468) was a general in Joseon Dynasty, when he was 28 years old, he became a Minister of Defense. owing to his distinct military achievements in suppressing rebel forces and bandits. However, his eminence came to an abrupt end with a political plot against him, which led to his execution on false charges of treason. Some years after his tragic death, people built a shrine for him and started holding memorial services to console his spirit and honor his loyal ardor to the country. This ceremony¡¯s purpose is memory of Nam Yi.
