The 700m long street has its origins at Daegu Herb Medicine Fair during the Joseon Dynasty. Daegu is located geographically in the center of Gyeongsangdo, and it is the major area of herbal medicine products in Korea. The River Nakdong at one time was a good transportation route for products in this area.
