Variety Place, Daejeon World Cup Stadium

Daejeon is located in the heart of the country, and is the gateway to the three southern Provinces, as well as being a transportation hub. Located in the neighborhood of Gongju and Buyeo, ancient capitals of the Baekje Kingdom (18 B.C.-A.D. 660), it possess a wide array of cultural and historic sites reflecting the ancient culture of the Baekje people. Moreover, diverse tourist attractions such as Gyeryongsan Mountain National Park are located in areas around the city.
Daejeon is most noted for being a scientific-research city in Korea. Living up to this reputation, the city is focusing on fostering and developing high-technology and knowledge-intensive industries. Daejeon is also the nation's second administrative capital where 1.5 million citizens foster their dreams and hopes for the future.

Daejeon holds the "Daedeok Research Complex", which boasts the highest level of scientific and technological capabilities in Korea. Indeed, it was the host city of Korea's Economy, and Science EXPO in 1993. And as a result of the Proclamation Ceremony of Daedeok Valley, which has been transformed into venture business area (acknowledged by the government as the Silicon Valley of Korea), by specializing in information and communications industries and bio-tech industries.
Yuseong Hot Springs
This is an international hot springs area. Tourists fancy visiting this famous hot spring region.   Major minerals contained in the hot water originating from 200 m below the surface include calcium, potassium, sulfate and so on.   Hot springs regions are known to be effective in treating skin diseases and neuralgia.
