Daegu World Cup Stadium

The Daegu World Cup Stadium at a size of 511,500§³ is located in Daeheungdong Suseong-gu, Daegu and was completed in May, 2001. Its construction finished before any other host city in Korea. Situated in the middle of Daegu Grand Park, it is a beautiful and environmentally-friendly stadium.
The Stadium not only offers athletic facilities but is also a chief attraction to visitors in the area.   Daegu is the country's third-largest city with a population of 2.5 million.   The city is located in the central-southeastern part of the peninsula, as is the cradle of culture and education.   It has not only preserved the culture of the the Silla and Gaya Kingdoms, it has also preserved the tradition of Confucian culture from the Joseon Dynasty.

Daegu is the leading industrial base for textiles and fashion and its synthetic fabric production and export complex is the largest of its kind in the world.

Daegu was nominated as a ¡°Solar City¡± for achievements in environmental awareness by the International Energy Agency.
