Traditional and High-spirited Lotus Lantern Festival
Please come and join us!
This is a representative regional cultural festival of Seoul City, and will be of interest to everyone.
Everyone can enjoy making the colorful lanterns, and we will light them with our hearts united, becoming as one. We invite you to attend this festival of enlightened joy, one of Korea’s greatest holidays.
●Buddhist Street Festival
The Whole family will enjoy trying temple food, making rubbings of Buddhist sutras, making Buddhist paintings, and of course making Buddhist lanterns!
■Time : 12:00pm - 8:00pm, Sunday, 23 May, 2004
■Location : In the street in front of Jogye-sa Temple(Subway line no 1(Jong gak station) or line no 3(An guk station))
★Lotus Lantern Making Festival for Foreigners ★
We(IDIA, Int’l Dharma Instructors Association) prepare Lotus Lantern Making Festival for Foreigners in front of Jogyesa temple on 23rd May, 'Lotus Lantern Festival Day' the greatest traditional festival through the year, full of 100,000 lanterns and enlightened joy.
Please make haste not to miss this wonderful chance. (Limited to 100 participants)
■Time: 23rd May(Sun) 2:00 day time (Pls come until 1:30pm)

●Lantern Parade
100,000 bright lanterns, paradeing in waves!
The colorful parade-sized lanterns shaped like dragons, white elephants, Buddhas and lotus flowers and the joyful parade-teams with stim their banners will stimulate the atmpshere. Meanwhile, Buddhists carrying one hundred thousand lanterns of various kinds will march along Jongno Street.
■Time : 7:00om-9:30pm, 23 May 2004
■Location : Jong no(from Dongdaemun to Jogye-sa temple)
If you want to make a seat, pls come to Tap-gol Park(Jong no 3ga). We prepare 300 seats for Foreigners and you can join the PARADE with lanterns!
